Things to Do with Kids Outdoors –
Ages 3-5 And 6-8 Years -Old
The following is a list of great indoor activities and
things to do with kids. Such as this:
1. Indoor or outdoor yard picnic: Spread out a picnic blanket, gather your favorite snacks, and put on your favorite playlist. Don’t overthink things. Keep things simple and enjoy eating and socializing in a new environment. It’s a delightful change of pace.
2. Jigsaw puzzles: Puzzles are a great way to pass the time. They can also help to reduce anxiety and slow downtime. Something that we could all benefit from.
3. Meditate: Meditating is a fantastic tool for relieving
stress and anxiety and allowing us to live more in the moment. Headspace is a
fun app that makes meditation accessible to people of all ages. It’s a resource
that’s just one tap away, with fun and engaging animations that teach you the
basics to tons of guided meditations categorized by need (focus, sleep,
anxiety, etc.) and age.
4. Life-size “Me” Portraits: Whether you have a large roll
of butcher or craft paper or a space outside your front door, this will keep
kids entertained for a while. Trace your child’s entire body on paper or the
ground outside with a marker. Then ask them to fill in the blanks.
5. Plant a Garden: If you can’t plant one outside, you can make one indoors or in a window box. This activity is especially beneficial to children because it teaches them where food comes from, the joy of caring for something, and the all-important patience.
