Today is 'NATIONAL PUPPY DAY'

For all the joy they bring to our lives.

Celebrity Pet & Home Lifestyle Expert and author Colleen Paige created the day in 2006. She also has found other holidays.

‘National Dog Day’ and 'National Cat Day'

National Puppy Day is an international day as it has spread around the globe.

In addition, it’s a day for saving orphaned puppies around the world. How do you ask? By encouraging pet adoption, and a day to work in helping to get puppies out of pet stores.

If you can–Adopt a pet!

Cuddly Kitten Day

People cuddle and play with their kittens, as well as other kittens. There are many ways to show kittens' love by being given treats and new toys.

There are usually two to five kittens in a litter, but there can be as few as one kitten or over ten.

During their (kittens) first few weeks they need their mothers to keep them warm, as they can’t regulate their body temperature. Kittens can open their eyes after approximately seven to ten days, but it takes until they are about ten weeks old until they can see as well as older cats.

After kittens have some eyesight and can stay warm on their own, they go outside of their nest. They go through a significant amount of development between the ages of two and seven weeks.
