Buddee and his friends are quite adventurous. One day they were sitting in the school's café when they overheard some boys talking about a cruise ship. One boy, called Aaron, was saying what crazy fun he’d had. “Besides, being an enormous ship every year, the captain puts on a spectacular show
As a bonus
– each year during the grand finale there is a secret box and letter hidden
somewhere on the ship, and kids are asked to participate in the search.” He
challenged Buddee to join the search. Buddee accepted the challenge, along with
his other friends, and now they are bound for a five-day cruise, in search for
the holiday secret box.
Will
the four find the holiday secret box in time?
PROLOGUE
The family sat in
the family room to discuss vacation plans.
Leann was not happy.
“I want to go to Disneyland!” she shouted while
stomping her feet and pouting.
Bud, on the other hand, was so excited.
“Wait a minute! We went to Disneyland last year,” Bud
replied as Leann stomped her feet again.
“Well, I want to go again.”
“Oh, Leann! Let’s go visit where grandpa is from.
That would be nice! We’ll visit Disney next year.” Knowing his six-year-old sister will want to
see the Disney crew.
“Well, I want to go again.” She stomped her feet
again.
“You two play nice. We are going on a cruise to
visit my father’s homeland. It will be fun, educational, and teach us a brief
history too. To learn about the many fruits that come from the country like
guava, mango, passion fruit called Granadilla, and types of avocados. Come on,
let’s do this!” said Dad as he left the room to check on the family dog Champ.
The new addition to the family.
“What does
Ed… Edu -ca…”
“Educational,” Dad said.
“Educational mean, Dad?" asked Leann.
“Well, Leann, educational is related to the verb
educate, which means to teach and instruct someone like you or your brother,”
explained Dad. And left the room to left Champ the new family dog outside in
the yard.
Just then, Bud’s mom came into the family room.
“What’s going on, you two?”
“We are planning a cruise to visit grandpa’s
homeland.” Leann said.
“I’m going to start packing,” declared Leann.
“Oh! So, you are interested now?” Bud teased.
“Yes! I want to ride the big ship, and next year
it’s Disneyland again!” Leann said with a smile.
As the four were happily talking about everything
they would do on the cruise, Dad reminded everyone that the pandemic was still
a worry.
“So, we will postpone our vacation abroad until
next year. And since Bud has convinced us with his presentation- that we should
take his classmate from school suggestion. Okay!
In the meantime, let us come up with ways to help
our senior neighbors. We can still have fun, even if it might be a little
different of a summer than we might prefer.”
