Child Safety & Protection Month
Children and adolescents ages 1- 19 die of injuries here in the
US. Many are hospitalized and a larger percentage visit the emergency department.
The EDC / Education Development Center is making safety
a reality for all young adults, by addressing social determinants of health and
safety.

Lead Poisoning
Children under the age 16 are especially vulnerable because their
growing bodies absorb more lead than adults and their brains and nervous
systems are more sensitive to the damaging effects of lead.
