  Native American Heritage Month National Native American Heritage Month is celebrated each year in November that began in 1990. It is a time to celebrate the traditions, languages and stories of the vi communities and ensure their rich histories and contributions continue to thrive with each passing generation .   On August 3, 1990, President of the United States George H. W.   What is Earth Day? Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 . It's a special day when people all around the world do things to take care of our planet.  That means keeping the land, air, and water clean, protecting animals and plants, and learning how to live in a way that doesn’t hurt the Earth. What Can YOU Do for Earth Day ? As an Individual: Pick up litter at your local park or around your school. Recycle paper, plastic, cans, and glass the right way. Plant a seed or tree and watch it grow. Turn off lights and electronics when you're not using them to save energy. Take shorter showers to save water. Use a reusable water bottle instead of single-use plastic. As a Class: Create a poster or bulletin board showing ways to help the Earth.
