  What is Earth Day? Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 . It's a special day when people all around the world do things to take care of our planet.  That means keeping the land, air, and water clean, protecting animals and plants, and learning how to live in a way that doesn’t hurt the Earth. What Can YOU Do for Earth Day ? As an Individual: Pick up litter at your local park or around your school. Recycle paper, plastic, cans, and glass the right way. Plant a seed or tree and watch it grow. Turn off lights and electronics when you're not using them to save energy. Take shorter showers to save water. Use a reusable water bottle instead of single-use plastic. As a Class: Create a poster or bulletin board showing ways to help the Earth. Outdoor Activities: Ideas for Games and Activities to Do Outside A. Scavenger Hunt Create a list of items for kids to find in the backyard or park (e.g., a red leaf, a smooth rock, a feather). Kids can explore and check off items as they find them. B. Nature Bingo Make bingo cards with different nature items (e.g., bird, flower, butterfly). Kids can mark off items as they see them and try to get a full row. C. Obstacle Course Set up a simple obstacle course using cones, hula hoops, and ropes.
