You can be a fire safety hero by doing these simple things at home:

Check smoke alarms with an adult — they should beep when tested.

Keep blankets, paper, or clothes away from heaters or candles.
Help plan two escape routes from every room in your house.
Know your family’s meeting spot outside (like a mailbox, neighbors, or big tree).

Remember: “Don’t wait — check the date!” Smoke alarms older than 10 years need to be replaced.
