Disability Pride Month in July

Disability Pride Month in the US is celebrated in July. It commemorates the landmark passing in July 1990 of American with Disabilities Act/ ADA.

Now celebrated and supported in the United Kingdom, South Africa, and other countries.

The DPM colors are a black background and across the flag five zigzag lines of blue, yellow, white, red, and green.   

 

Diagonal lines - represent lighting blots while each color symbolizes embodies the uniqueness in the disability community.

 

There are all types of disabilities – some disabilities are not so visible.
