Encouraging
Children's Fitness
Obesity, Childhood obesity is on the rise, and conditions such as diabetes among children are a concern among parents. It has never been more important to consider fitness for children. As more and more children spend increasing amounts of time in front of the computer and television, combined with the wide variety of snacks and unhealthy junk food available to children, these conditions have reached epidemic proportions among the nation's children.
It is
critical to instill in your children the value of regular exercise and
encourage them to participate in activities that will keep them in shape. It is
never too early to think about fitness, which is why it is your responsibility
as a parent, our responsibility as guardians and teachers, to ensure that your children
develop healthy habits at a young age. Please take a few minutes to read the
following article and, you will determine whether your children have the best
possible start in life and develop good habits that will serve them well in the
future.
It's a family affair.
Begin by making fitness a priority in your family with it must be a vital part for everyone in the family, not just your children. You should review your food and eating habits to safeguard that they are healthy. Consider the activities in which you engage. Begin walking, hiking, jogging, playing games, cycling, swimming, tennis, or other family-friendly physical activities. Don’t be afraid to be inventive and come up with new and exciting ideas.
Restricting TV and computer usage
Children
today spend more time than ever before playing video games and watching
television. Thus, it changes our more traditional activities, like sports and
playing outside with friends. As a result, children’s fitness levels continue
to deteriorate.
To
combat this, limit the time your children spend watching TV each day. Instead,
inspire them to play outside with their friends. If it’s a rainy day, let them
play indoors, and if they absolutely must play video games, look for consoles
and games that encourage physical movement while you play, so you and your
children can have fun while also exercising.
Get rid of the school run.
Do you drive your children to school? If possible, consider walking with them instead. It will encourage them to get at least some exercise each day, and it will also be beneficial to you. Why not give them each a pedometer and challenge them to walk a certain number of steps per day? A delightful fun way to get kids to exercise more, and there’s nothing wrong with a bit of sibling rivalry.
Encourage participation in sports and
after-school activities.
Sports
and after-school fitness activities benefits are:
Excellent
ways to not only- encourage your child to improve their fitness
Also,
to aid in their social development and teamwork. What about playing soccer,
going to swimming lessons or aerobics classes regularly?
Fitness
is just as important for your children as it is for you as parents and other
adults. By checking with your healthcare provider and following the advice
above for fitness tips.
With
regular activity and exercise, you can ensure that your children/ child develop
good fitness habits early on, which will benefit them later in life. Perhaps
now is an excellent time to consider your children’s fitness.
