National Computer Learning Month highlights teaching the importance of skills and ideas learned by students; because technology and computers continue to grow. Technology helps to foster the students’ creativity, helping them develop their skills, and preparing them for their future is key to their success. Since the first National Computer Learning Month, the goal of those involved was not to create “whiz kids” but rather help students develop academic skills, creativity, and critical-thinking abilities. October is ‘Fire Prevention Month ’ The National Fire Protective Association sponsors the month of October to teach parents and children how to prevent fires in their own homes.

Its ‘Adopt a Shelter Dog Month.’ The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) sponsors this event to promote the adoption of dogs from local shelters. Each one needs a forever home, and their potential is limitless.
