Hi – Ho, Hi- Ho, It’s Back –to - School They go!


SCHOOL - TIME:
With summer winding down, parents are focusing on the beginning school year. There can be many changes with going back to schools, such as a new grade level and those beginning school for the first time. Including your own expectation to ensure they form good habits for the coming school year remains consistent with your kid or the children.

It will be the most important aspect of starting school - consistency in your child’s life as they begin a new school year.
Start the year with good habits developed now - that will take your child beyond their school years.
Good habits are essential for parents, guardian, and children.





Preparing your child for school –Kindergarten


 ·         FIRST and FOREMOST  - Begin if not already to teach your child the spell his or her name, letters, numbers, and shapes
·         Become familiar with the school [s],
·         Make certain all paper work is completed and emergency contact data is updated
·         Visit the school with your child and check if there are friends of the child that attends
·         In May many schools offer a welcome day for a parents and incoming children
·         Practice role play for the first day of school such as:
1.    Early bedtime
2.    And in the morning get up wake the child the normal time he or she would have to get up for school practice session
3.    Have breakfast.



·         The child will learn many things at school so start at home with responsible task like putting away toys, books and small pieces of clothing.
·         Also teaching your child to share, and respect others
·         Let the child be heard but also teach to learn to listen to what is being said - following instructions from parents and teachers at school
·         Empathy building can help deter bullying
·         Let the child know - It’s okay if you are not sure of an answer or question – asking for help encouraged learning
·         Learning reading, counting and board games all help in a children growth and development
·         Visit the local library for reading time and choosing books
·         Let kids choose his or her books help build ownership and responsibility with motivation to read 
·         Reinforce learning of name, shapes, letters and numbers.
·         Wearing clothing, shoes and boots that are easy to fasten
·         And label all items your child brings to school.
