Miracle on 34th Street was released in 1947. Darryl F. Zanuck, studio head, insisted that it be released in May because more people go to the movies in the summer. Keeping the fact it was a holiday Christmas movie quiet!

Nelson Mandela became the first black president of South Africa in 1994, after spending 27 years in prison.
In 1993 one year prior to his release Mandela and South Africa then president, Frederik Willem de Klerk both awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for the end to apartheid!
