Preparing
your child for school – Grades: 6th -8th grade
Upper grade levels – Middle school – High school
6th grade
Sports: before your child gets involved in any sports check
with your child’s physician during back to school physical examination.
7th grade
Social Media usage: you can help to
avoid potential issues with cyberbullying by monitor and limits all devices.
8th grade
Study habits: homework, organization skills, and study habits, all
are key elements to aid children with the development of good study habits!
In helping to alleviate eye, neck and brain
fatigue during a homework study time getting up to walk about,
to stretch will help.
In summary
A healthy breakfast is not skipping meals,
but rather eating healthy throughout the day.
Good dental habits are central 10th – 11th
grades because almost all adult teeth are present. Brushing and flossing and a
visit to the dentist regularly should be a part of good dental hygiene.
Some children will be learning to drive by the
high school years. It’s important to note driving is a privilege. Driving and
mobile phone usage, such as - texting while driving - is not a good match! Be
safe and keep others safe around you!
Exercise, physical activity is valuable
at any age. Encourage children to get involved in walking, cycling, etc.,
during school or after-school activities.
A healthy lifestyle now could be beneficial
in the future years.
