Saint Nicholas Day

Children and their families celebrate with many types of treats – such as cookies, small toys, candy, or fruit in stockings, socks, shoes, or bags.  Some communities have special services held on the day.  St Nicholas' Day is a day of observance and not a federal public holiday in the US.










Chanukah -
The eight-day FESTIVAL of LIGHTS that begins on the eve of the 12th of the Jewish month of Kislev 5778 – Kindling of the menorah is the focal point of the Chanukah holiday, celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods.
