National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15)

  For 30 days, we recognize the influence of people from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. National Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Many Hispanic individuals have made important contributions to the arts, science, politics, and even the foods we enjoy. How about Love! Yummy!   So kids -What can you do to celebrate? Let’s talk about this special day and why it’s so important.       What is Grandparents' Day? o     It’s a day dedicated to celebrating our grandparents and showing them how much we love and appreciate them!       Why Do We Celebrate? o     Grandparents play a big role in our lives. They teach us new things, tell us fun stories, and always make us feel special. This day is our chance to give them extra love and thanks! o     Many of us may not have grandparents with us, or live far away but we appreciate the quality time spent with them.       How Can We Celebrate? o     You can make a handmade card, draw a picture, or bake something yummy with a grown-up's help. o     Spend some time with your grandparents, whether it’s in person, on the phone, or through a video call. o     Share your favorite memories or stories about them!       Fun Fact! o     Did you know Grandparents' Day was first celebrated in 1978 in the United States?
